Rylie “Jackie Rice” Bryan is Batang Sora Queen of Bahaghari 2022

Rylie Bryan AKA Jackie Rice was crowned as the new titleholder of the recently concluded Batang Sora Queen of Bahaghari 2022 in Barangay Tandang Sora.

Rylie Bryan bested seven other candidates after delivering an all-out performance during the pageant.

Rylie, who is a proud LGBTQIA+ member, outshone the Top 5 finalist after acing the Q and A portion’s final question in relation to the celebration of international youth week’s theme, Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a world for all ages. “What have you learned from the queer icons that you can share to the young generation of queers and members of LGBTQIA+ today?”

“Ladies ang gentlemen, lahat tayo ay may matutunan sa tao. Ngunit ang pinakamahalagang matututunan natin ay (ito) ang pagtanaw ng utang na loob sa ating mga pamilya. Vice Ganda and Awra, they are still looking back to their families, dahil iyon ang pinakamahalagang natutunan natin, ang bumalik po tayo kung saan tayo nanggaling. Dahil lagi po nating pakatatandaan ang hagdanan ay hindi lamang akyatan, ito rin ay babaan na kung saan hindi ibigsabihin na sikat na tayo dapat mag-stay tayo bilang sikat. We need to look back to our families because that is the essence of life. I always believe that we should always look back to our families. That is the lesson I’ve learned to them. Because if we look back to our families, everything goes well. And I, thank you.” Rylie answered confidently.

Rylie Bryan outperformed Jade “Bianca Manalo” Soberano, 1st Runner-up; Kim “Glaiza De Castro” Portera, 2nd Runner-up; Fiam “Kristine Reyes” Foster, 3rd Runner-up; and Cassy “Pia Wurtzbach” Paculan, 4th Runner-up.

Barangay Captain Marlou Ulanday and Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Tandang Sora Chairwoman Patricia May Carreon ardently graced the pageant as they detailed and assured that Barangay Tandang Sora will be always supportive and pro-active to the goals and visions of LGBTQIA+ community in Tandang Sora.
